Missoula to Ovando: the sleepy town that loves us

I didn't get out of Missoula until about 9, due to fun conversation and that blasted time zone change again. I met a few other riders today, turns out I'm still on the L&C today and part of tomorrow. Also, Montana's free map sucks, the mileages are wrong!

Whatevs, the ride today was nice, mostly  uphill heading towards the continental divide and hot. It was windy at first, but then that died down and it got hotttt. It's 91 degrees with no wind as I write this at 6pm.

I got in to Ovando around 3pm after 55 miles and 4:12 on bike. The next town is very far away.  It was time to stop. Besides, Ovando rules!

It's only for a few buildings, and serves about a pop. of  300, mostly all in the surrounding area, but they love cyclists. This is where the Great Divide route (offroad Canada to Mexico, there are intense!) crosses my route, and a divide rider is camping with me tonight. We can stay in the park by the museum, in a tipi, in a covered wagon, or a real old west jail!  All free will donation. There are showers in the park and free WiFi at the outdoors/bike shop! Got damn this town rules. Be sure to look at the pictures.
